Filthy rich,
Would you be my friend?

A best-selling author,
Would you read my books?

If I became
A schoolteacher,
Would you learn from me?

If I called you
Crying in the middle
Of the night,
Would you pick up and answer?

If I were
An über-nerd,
Would you hang out with me?

If I moved away,
Would you come visit me?

If I was in need,
Would you be there
For me?

If I won a contest,
Would you celebrate with me?

If I died tomorrow,
Would you miss me?

I am tired, lonely, and nervous
My heart is beating fast
I have so many hopes and dreams
Put this misery in the past

Being this far away is hell

I hide until ready to be seen
Look out for my markings
Once seen, be careful
I am deadly to the touch

My loyalties lie in protecting the pride
I am noble in every way
My roar is mighty as well as my bite
For reward I get to sleep all day
The females hunt and catch the food
They also raise the young
I am mighty as a sword
My mane is thick and long

I loved my cat
He was part of me
Not just part of my life

He knew he was mine
Although he was nice to others
But always knowing whose he was

He would come upstairs
Where he knew he wasn't allowed
But it was just to ask me to let him out

I took him in when he was a kitten
He must have known right away
That he was going to be happy

He was my cat his whole life
He always came to sit on my lap
But never in anyone else's

When the time came after 15 years
And he was at the end
Knowing that we had to part

He looked at me with kind eyes
As if to say good-bye
Knowing we had been happy his whole life

My cat loved me
And I still miss him
Yes, I loved my cat

The air is warm
The grass is sprouting
The snow is but a memory

Trees are budding
Flowers are blooming
Getting ready for Mr. Bee

Birds are chirping
The sun is shining
There is joy floating on the air

Picnics in planning

The winter of my eyes are starting to thaw.
Turning sky blue with hues of gold.
Like the sweet daffodils sprouting from the earth.
I feel myself coming out of my winter cocoon.
Spreading my wings and ready to fly.
