A song that is upbeat
A smile from a stranger
My favorite food to eat

A cloudy and rainy day
The thunder in the sky
A hug from my favorite person
Laughing people passing by

A simple word of wisdom
A little buzzing bee
The scent of roses in the morning
These things all make me happy

Old movies- black and white where true love lies
Books filled with mystery and excitement
A first kiss
A child’s laughter
Hot summer days and crisp fall nights
Coffee with a friend
Pen and paper
Arms wrapped around me tight
Spring showers and thunder storms
Happiness is easy for me to find,
It’s in all the small things I keep close to my heart and close in my mind.

A good kosher hot dog
Fried eggs sunny side up
Fresh orange juice

Madison Square Garden
The old Yankee Stadium
Taking the train to get there
All by myself as a young boy

Musikverein Vienna
Concertgebouw Amsterdam
Symphony Hall Chicago
Great venues I have played in

Lots of nice people
Lots of nice places
Lots of nice thoughts
Lots of nice memories

No way to list them all
So now I just try to stay happy
Happy memories are forever
The other ones disappear

Tears well up in my eyes

I am missing you so much

Sadness and Optimism by Leann Mitchell

I try so hard to smile
To look life right in the face
I try to ignore the negative things
I try to put them in their place

Sometimes the sadness gets to me
Sometimes I feel so low
Sometimes it’s hard to pick back up
I feel like I should go

To be without you hurts to the core
I miss you with every breath
Your love is all that keeps me going
I will love you until death

Sometime soon we will be together again
I focus on that day
I refuse to let the pain consume me
Let our hearts show us the way

Weather Expressions: February 2, 2013

The wind is blowing loudly as it causes the land to chill
Thunder begins rolling from far away
A flash here, a flash there of lightning in the clouds
Pitter patter, pitter patter drops begin to fall
Heavier and heavier until a steady downpour
The thunder gets louder as the storm intensifies
Forks of lightning bolt to the ground
The rain is roaring outside
It’s peaceful and brings me to sleep
I forget my troubles for a moment as the storm rages
Such a sweet symphony

Pounds onto
My window panes.
The hard splattering
Of water
Keeps me
In bed,
Dreaming of
My lover.

He's lying
Next to me
In the embrace
That only
Lovers know.
We make small talk
About how much
We love each other
As the rain
Hit the roof
Of our
Love nest.

The rain pours
All day long
The clouds part
Making way
For a
