Saturday's Poetic Expressions: April 13, 2013

Reality is not Love By Angie Lazzara (c) 2012

I’d rather live in a fantasy then in reality;
Where I know I can’t have what I truly desire.
Believing is my deception.
Believing what I want is real is only my imagination.
A safer way to live and know what I dream of having.

Holding on to you and dreaming my own lies.
These twisted desires holding me up and getting me through my day.
Seeing the fake side of life that keeps me safe.

It can’t be real, to feel like this.
I need the bliss of false love and hope.
And if I open my eyes and the pieces start to fall,
I’ll know I never really had you at all…

Untitled 2013 Angie Crum

My mind runs
Never stops
The feeling of constant words jam into my brain
Grabbing my pen and looking for paper.
My hand cannot keep up with the flow I'm feeling.
The dam has busted.
Do you want to read?
Do you want to hear?
Do you see what I'm trying to do?
I've bloomed into what I was always meant to be.
A poet, a writer , an author, an artist.
No longer holding back the passion, no longer building a dam.

Chasing Dreams By Leann Mitchell
(c) 2013

I’m running in a cloud but it doesn’t seem like I’m moving.
I’m reaching out for something I want or must have.
It’s just beyond my reach and my heart is breaking.
Farther and farther it seems to drift and I’m still running.
I’m running but not going anywhere.
Why can’t I reach what I desire the most?
It drifts; my heart breaks; tears fall.
Chasing dreams never solved anything at all.

Saturday's Expressions: April 6, 2013

Swimming Home - by T.A. Taylor Morgan 2013.

Below the sun
Below the depths
See we swim
See we live
Thrive in glory
Thrive in darkness
We're swimming now
We're swimming home.

Alcoholic Misery By Leann Mitchell

All it takes is a bad day and you crack open the bottle.
Define a bad day. You’ll take any excuse.

A sideway glance, or word you didn’t agree on.
Crack open the bottle or the can and let the liquid consume you.
Succumb to your master for he’s your true love.
Love, hate. It goes hand in hand.
Welcome the chains he binds you in.
Crack open the bottle and forget it all.
Let the poison spread through your being.
Let it change you; change everything you are and I love.
Let it take away your cares along with your heart.
Crack open the bottle and forget you love me.

Just Once by Laura Lee Sweet (c) 2013

Come dream with me
Of hot nights,
A full and lovely moon,

And white sand beaches.
Can we listen to the surf
And make wishes on shooting stars?
Lay near me,
Only our souls touching
And be satisfied for this one moment.
Let us whisper the truth
Just this once.
